Lockdown has given many families the opportunity to spend more time than usual together, and it has allowed them to undertake some pending projects. That is the case for Álvaro, president of the Peña Valencianista ‘L’esclafit de Torrent’, and his daughter Elena, who have spent hours on a Valencia CF related restoration.
"A few months ago we obtained an old table football set that needed some work done, and in the end we decided that we needed to completely renovate it," he tells VCF Media.
"What we knew we wanted to do was to make one of the teams Valencia CF. However, we never had time to finish it. Now that we're in quarantine, Elena told me "Dad, now's the time." With her help, we've finished it."

Elena had a moment of inspiration during the painting process, leading to a change in kit for one of the sides.
"When my dad proposed that we restore the table football game, it seemed like a great idea to me. Then he told me that he wanted to make Valencia CF one of the teams. But I thought that we could also make the other team Valencia CF. I decided to paint the 'Senyera' kit.
The table football set features recognisable figures such as Santi Cañizares and Dani Parejo, and has been a labour of love for Álvaro and Elena during their time together at home.
